Each build is as unique as our clients

Approached by the homeowners to extend their existing residence, Saltvu Builders delivered a striking result in this project by incorporating a combination of timber and steel elements. Dark Scyon Axon cladding from James Hardie serves as the perfect backdrop for the façade’s silvertop ash cantilevered frame, which comprises a combination of boards from 50mm to 130mm in width.

The façade’s feature frame perfectly complements the foyer’s recycled timber flooring, the courtyard decking, and the cantilevered staircase. Designed by Mt Martha design + drafting, the home’s five-metre-high void in the foyer provides a dramatic effect, while views of the private courtyard can be admired from the custom-made windows and expansive bi-fold doors.

A seamless zero-clearance American oak cavity sliding door leads from the library to the main bedroom, while a matching door provides easy access to the ensuite. Showcasing wall render to mimic the home’s exterior, the modern ensuite is fitted with custom brushed-gold tapware.

Luxurious fixtures also feature in the highly functional kitchen, which also has stunning sliced-timber veneer cabinetry and the custom-made leather handles that encourage an organic aesthetic. To ensure the spacious residence remains warm and welcoming year-round, hydronic heating was installed.
